“So yeah,” he continues. “I want to stay but I don’t want this to just be a one-off. If that’s all you want, if that’s all you’re ready for then I should probably go.”
“Lucas, I – that’s not what I want. Even then.” She gestures helplessly between them. “I’m not really a one night stand kind of girl.”
He nods as if he knew that. “But I’m not the type of guy you’re normally with. Right?”
Ash cocks her head, studying him. “Am I your usual type?”
Grimacing, he confesses, “I don’t really have a type.”
“Oh.” She sounds a little insulted.
“Oh?” He sounds a little defensive.
She scrunches her nose adorably. “Man-whore?” she guesses.
Lucas is shifting uncomfortably under her gaze. “Maybe. But that’s not what this is. I mean-”
“I’m special?” Ash interrupts, the sarcasm obvious in her voice.
